This building was actually built as a Jewish Synagogue in 1924. After the Jewish congregation relocated, the synagogue and the Gamble house were both sold to the AME church. Today, the property is a single family home.

Thanks for the correction, Julie. I will gather some more info on the early years of the building and update the post soon. The Hamilton County auditor’s site has the building listed as being built in 1940, and the James Gamble house as being built in 1880. Both those years appear to be incorrect. Will have to dig deeper.
